Hi I need some help on two college Algebra questions. Anybody out there?
Go ahead ..
Hi
what r ur questions?
post one now, close the question, then post the other!
unless it is a two part question, then post both here
Can i cut and paste it here in this box?
a) Provide a written explanation describing a step by step process to find the horizontal asymptotes of a rational function.
Hi Stephanie are you there
1. Find the derivative of the function 2. Set it equal to 0 in order to find the critical points 3. Solve for the variable (Many times you will have to factor or use the quadratic formula to get all the critical points) 4. Test the critical points you get by plugging them back into the original function The asymptote will be the critical point that gives you an answer that cannot be solved (like 2/0 or sqrt(-10), and so forth
If anything doesn't make sense or isn't clear let me know
Sorry it took so long
No that is cool thanks I have one more you willing?
Sure :)
Provide a written explanation describing a step by step process to find the vertical asymptotes of a rational function.
Did you get this one to Stephanie?
Stephanie you still on?
Hmm... I have to think of the difference between horizontal and vertical asymptotes...
I don't know if I can get this one. Do you think anyone else will know?
I will see thanks for the help in the other one.
No worries
Can anyone help me with the answer to this question?Provide a written explanation describing a step by step process to find the vertical asymptotes of a rational function.
