Now that you have a clear view of conflict, consider the conflict in your own novel. Write a friendly letter to your instructor identifying a conflict that is evolving in your novel this far. Your letter should contain 2-3 paragraphs and complete the following tasks: Identify the evolving conflict. (If your novel includes more than one, choose only one.) Explain whether the conflict is internal or external. Diagnose the conflict as: character vs. character character vs. nature character vs. self character vs. society Recognize the factors contributing to the conflict by considering: choices the characters make the personality traits of the characters the events that unfold the setting and time period any other relevant information Propose a solution to the conflict or an idea for preventing the conflict Begin with a greeting (Example: Dear Mrs. Smith,) End with a closing and your name (Example: Sincerely,)

By "your novel", does it mean Fahrenheit 451?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes .

So, what's the conflict? I haven't read it in a while, but you have plenty of choices. The easy one would be "character vs society".

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have all the information, i just don't know how to put it into letter format. Its an internal and external conflict, character vs. society choices the characters make: hides and reads books, kills beatty, runs away from "police" the personality traits of the characters: kind, cares about other people, pays attention to what is going on around him, patient the events that unfold: guys house gets burned down, he turns to faber for help, has to run away to stay alive the setting and time period: i don't know this one Propose a solution to the conflict or an idea for preventing the conflict: guy montag could go in disguise and run far away. he could evaluate further into the issues of this and try to figure out why people don't approve of books, or he could start a campaign that would be secret from firemen

For the setting and time period, I'd describe the society and say it's like a futuristic/regressive parallel universe that exaggerates some aspects of our present society to illustrate the dangers of extreme. For the letter itself, I'd go for the narrative--that is, tell the story with all the details you came up with.

Honestly.... someone message me and ill explain better what i need to do...
