Do you know any Trig?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A tangent function is most appropriate here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can use tangent = opp/adj for this you have this triangle and solve for x |dw:1352136005634:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Remember Sin is opp/adj. Sin(50 degrees) = x/50ft. Solve for x and then remember to add the extra 5ft.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve for x then add 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use tan and make sure your calc is in degrees :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm sorry use tangent. Not sin.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tan is opp/adj sin is opp/hyp so tan is appropriate for this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

put this in your calculate tan(50)(50)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

after you get that answer add 5 to it and thats your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

make sure you're in degree mode.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that should be right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Looks legit.
