how do you write"A is the set of even whole numbers tyhat are less than 18" in roster form? how do you write A using set-builder notation? i dont want the answer. i want help to find it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

np. First off, as you might already know, roster form, lists all the members of the set while set-builder notation is of the form {x | x is a ...}.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"0" is considered an even whole number, so in roster form, A will list out even numbers (evenly divisible by 2), starting at 0, 2, etc and ending at ..., 14, 16 but not including 18.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Set-builder notation suggests that you describe A as A = {x | such that x is an even whole number less than 18}. There are other ways to describe A in set-builder notation that will give the same set, including algebraic expressions.

Does this help?
