I have a student asking a question about a works cited entry. She doesn't have an author, but has the title of the article first. Here's the sticky part - the article starts with the number 99. "99 . . . ." How do you alphabetize this on the works cited page? First or would it be alphabetized according to the letter "n"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. On an iPod and other things, "alphabetized" works are numbers first, (1-9) and then letters.

I think Dbro is right--I just looked in my MLA handbook and couldn't find a precise answer.
