OpenStudy (day_2010):

I need a little help with this question: Why do I not use (n-1) in the 'General Term of An Arithmetic Sequence' when I am given the first term a "sub 1"= 250 and d= -70 to write the first six terms of an arithmetic sequence? Thanks. :)

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Isn't \[a_{1}\] the SECOND term in the sequence?

OpenStudy (day_2010):

Hmm as in the formula, yes.
