PLease help Calulator hates me...Graph the logarithmic equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y = \log _{5}x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for some stupid reason my calulator wont graph the screen goes white

Hmm I don't think I've ever seen a calculator with a base 5 button. Usually, calculators only have a log (which is base 10), and ln (base e) button. This one is better to do by hand anyway :D We can plot a few easy points. If you have no idea what the basic shape is suppose to look like, then try graphing y=ln x to get a general idea.

what?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

put ln x in your calculator. do you get a graph? Hmm that's not ln x.... that's e^x

im confused now ugh >:/

zepdrix (zepdrix):

heh :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i guessed

|dw:1352160080990:dw| This is the basic shape for a logarithmic function.
