Write the equation of a line in slope intercept form that is perpendicular to the line y = –4x and passes through the point (2, 6).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The line y=-4x has a slope of -4, right? Perpendicular lines have the negative reciprocal slope of each other, so the slope for the other line must be 1/4. put it in point slope form using that and the point given y-y1=m(x-x1) and simplify
