Week 4 war stories -- How's it going out there for the Mechanical MOOCers?

OpenStudy (andrew.m.higgs):

Absolutely loving it. I hope there will be other courses on offer later on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Still on week 3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am also on week 3 but forging ahead. The exercises are becoming a bit more challenging for me since I am mathematically challenged

OpenStudy (andrew.m.higgs):

Great stuff. Just keep pushing forward. :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm still forging ahead and enjoying it but the Codecademy has become frustrating as when programs actually work it still rejects them. Also, the links being sent out in the emails are sloppy. That should be like the one thing the man behind the Mooc should get right (e.g. point to a hw different than the one printed in the link). Minor complaints, I know, but it's making it harder for me to stay on target.

OpenStudy (andrew.m.higgs):

I guess if we let them know what bothers us, they can fix it so that the next bunch don't have the same frustrations. :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@exchaoordo Please do let us know if we get links wrong! The machines are staying up late to do this on a volunteer basis, and sometimes we are sleepier than we should be. As @andrew.m.higgs says, we're crowdsourcing improvements here and you will be helping the next group through.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't want to be negative: the course has been great so far and I appreciate what you're trying to do.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@exchaoordo Pointing out mistakes is not being negative! It's playing an important role on helping us develop the best possible course. If you remember offhand where we had the wrong link, it would be great to know, and keep sending the feedback. We know we won't get everything right the first time!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I love it - initially I was finding it very hard to keep track of the various sites, assignments, reading, lectures. I finally started keeping track of it in Evernote, and I dowloaded the complete OCW course files, so that helped a lot.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm finding week 4 more difficult, I'm not thru the codeacademy work yet. I'll probably have to fall behind and continue 1 week out of sequence

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm still on week 3 after the storm and a little vacation but working diligently to catch up. I appreciate all the hard work behind the scenes. It's nice having someone provide structure without the all out pressure to meet deadlines.
