Solve the system of equations by graphing -1/3x + y = –1 y = 4 +1/3x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. infinitely many solutions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B. no solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C. no solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D. infinitely many solutions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think no solutions ...(point of intersection actually speaking parallel lines intersects at infinity)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup.. b,or c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You may hav a doubt that if we ovelap the lines then each line intersects at infinite points... but if we over lap by moving.. equation of line changes.....(and it become one equation)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is ther won't b two equationss at all. Then how you can find the solution is by extending the line without moving the line and then find the point of intersction but in this case they won't intersct (theoretically, at infinity they do intersect --for explanation purose only) so answer is no solution. I hope You understood..:????? :? :? :? and (hope I am right :o) and am i clear :?

yea
