The escape velocity for a satellite is 11.2 km . if the satellite is launched at an angle of 60° with the vertical , what will be the escape velocity ?

I think basically what is wanted here is this: as the satellite is not going in the right direction, it will have to travel faster to get the required vertical component. 11.2 = actual vel * cos(60) This gives 22.4 km/s.
