Equations can be true or false. Can an expression like 2a + 7 be true or false? Wouldn't it be true?

It could be true, it just depends on what "a" is, and what situation it is used in.

It doesn't make sense to say 2a+7 is true or false. That's like saying the number 2 is true or false. If you said 2 = 2, then that would be true. If you said 2 = 3, then it would be false. However, saying just the number 2 is neither true nor false.
