use the distributive property and inverse property to simplify these expressions by combining like terms 1. 3x-2(1+x) 2. 3x-x(2+x) needs help

I don't see where the inverse property will be utilized, but distribute to each term inside the ( ) and then combine the like terms. constants with constants and variables with variables

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for number 1. use distributive property to distribute the 2 and you get 3x-2-2x and simplify and get x-2

for number 2 same thing distributive property and get 3x - 2x -x^2 simplify and get x-x^2
