right triangle help!!!!! An eagle is perched on the apex of a cliff, staring at a rabbit at an angle of depression of 54º. If the cliff is 175 feet high, how far away is the rabbit from the base of the cliff? Estimate if neccesary

You are going to need a drawing of a triangle-a right angle triangle.

cos54 = 175/x 175/cos54 = x ... i dont have a calculator to finish it :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you know that the total angles in a triangle is 180 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so to get the 3rd angle, u add 90 to 54 and subtract it from 180

OpenStudy (anonymous):

chloe123 thanks I can finish it here Selorm yes i know that im in 8th grade Honors

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where do I lebel the 175 ft

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cos theta= adjacent/hypotenus. like Chloe did, ur x = hypotenus. then u se the 3rd angle to get the base= distance away from d cliff

Selorm I have another part to the question
