Ok parallel model \[\sqrt{x+100} -50 = x\] \[\sqrt{x+100} = x+50\] \[x+100 = (x+50)^2\] \[x+100 = x^2+100x+2500\] \[0= x^2+100x+2500-100-x\] \[0= x^2+99x+2400\] Solve using quad. formula or whatever you choose and remember the requirement that $$(x+100)\ge 0$$
