3times square root of x equals x. Please help me to solve this, step by step. i know it's easy. i just forgot how to do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let's start by cleaning this up: \[3(\sqrt{x})=x\] Square each side to produce: \[9x=x ^{2}\] Then move them both to the same side, factor out an x and are left with: x(9-x)=0 At that point, x =0 or x= 9.
