help
he head of the sledge hammer weighs 22N and is moving at a speed of 7.6m/s when it strikes a skate.The skate moves 0.025m in to the ground in response. assume that forty % of the hammer kinetic energy is converted to initial kinetic energy of teh skate. apply teh work-energy theorem and obtain teh average resistive force applied to teh skate by the ground
@ivanmlerner
M=2.2kg V=7.6m/s d=0.025m
can i use Kf+uf=K0+u0
i got 1016.576N
Hi, did you recieve the message? It was long and I don't know if you got it.
yup going over it thanks
so r u wanted to become theoretical physicist
Yes, I do want to, and it might be kind of a romantic view but I want it because it seems to be the part where there is more creativity when creating theories, but I'm not sure about this part, I just hope. Do you still need help here? If you do can you draw the situation, cause I'm a little confused.
The skate moves then stop?
i got that part
no worries!!
Are you going to the university next year?
and last question do physicist paid well enough nope year after
Oh, thats a tricky one hehehe, many physicist in Brazil end up working at schools teaching teenagers and they are not well paid, even in private schools, but that is here, your educational system is better, so I dont know how it is over there (im assuming you live in the states). But here, if you go to do research (and here this happens mostly on college, not on private companies), you also teach on the university, but my professors say they are well paid. It is not extremely well paid, but its a good amount. If you are a very good physicist though all universities in the world might accept you and you have good chances of being very well paid.
alright thx
