OpenStudy (appleduardo):

how can i derivate the following function?

OpenStudy (appleduardo):

\[\frac{ 1 }{ x \sqrt{x} }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-3)/(2x^5/2)

OpenStudy (appleduardo):

how did u get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

take the sqrt x which equals x^1/2 adding in x you get x^3/2. Then do the derivative. You could even move the denominator to the top making it x^-3/2. that might make it easier.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ 1 }{x^{n} } = x^{-n}\] You can also multiply the terms in the denominator since \[\sqrt[n]{x} = x^{\frac{ 1 }{ n }}\] and \[x^{n}x^{m} = x ^{n+m}\]
