sec x / csc x

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

When in doubt, convert to sine and cosine and see what happens.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Remember, \(\sec x = \dfrac{1}{\cos x}\) and \(\csc x = \dfrac{1}{\sin x}\) So \(\Huge \dfrac{\sec x}{\csc x} = \dfrac{\dfrac{1}{\cos x}}{\dfrac{1}{\sin x}} = \dfrac{\sin x}{\cos x} = \boxed{ \tan x}\)

Is this clear?
