To what extent did the Islamic Republic enjoy the support of ordinary Iranian citizens? There are a number of ways to approach this question: For example, you could discuss the various sources of the regime’s popularity and/or unpopularity. You could also write about specific social groups such as women and students, or discuss how and why feelings about the regime changed over time.
