how to solve circuits that consist of diode?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

forward biased diode acts like closed switch (with 0.6 -0.7v drop for silicon diode),reverse biased diode acts like an open switch.

OpenStudy (shayaan_mustafa):

You must have to consider the diode drop. In forward bias: 0.6v - 0.7v In reversed bias: open

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The drop across the diode is the actual voltage across it with the diode drop 0.7V (usually). The actual drop across it is when the diode is replaced with the diode's forward resistance. There are four ways you can solve the circuit containing involving diodes, each differs only by the accuracy they offer to the solution. They are 1.Iterative method 2.Graphical method 3.Piecewise linear method 4.Computer analysis. You may refer a standard textbook to get more guidelines about solving circuits involving diodes.
