FACTOR THE TRINOMAL 10x^3-26x^2-12x Please help me I know that you would do 10*(-12) because you would do mn=10*(-12) then m+n=26 then you will do the chart 1,-120 -1,120 10, -12 -10, 12 then what
are you sure because what I have learned is that you find the equations for such as mn=ac and m+n=b
Not entirely certain what formula or chart you're learning in class. But here's how I would approach it: You can factor out 2x right away since all the coefficients are even and every term has an x, giving you 2x(5x^2-13x-6), then work the inside: Should be something like. (5x+?)(x-?) or (5x-?)(x+?). Only a couple different ways that will go. (5x+2)(x-3) looks about right. 5*3-2 will give you the 13. Giving you the final result 2x(5x+2)(x-3).
that is what I came up with also so I would put the 2x in from right
