A trapezoid has a base of x and height of 3 units. If there is also a square with sides measuring x , what formula would be used to calculate the total area of both figures? a. x^2 + 3x b. 4x + x^3 c. x^2 + 9x d. 9x e. x^2

perhaps you could draw the diagram

If there is a relationship between the two, you have to say so. A of square is x² A of trapezoid = (1/2)h(a+b) where a and b are the sides and h is the height. If b is the base, that becomes A = (1/2)h(a+X)
