Find the real numbers x and y that make the equation true. -3 + yi = x + 6i

Well, you know that yi has to = 6i because there are no other i-variabled expressions in the equation. Therefore: yi=6i => y=6 The same idea for the -3 and x. -3=x. Therefore: y=6 and x = -3
