Could someone help me clear up how to find oblique asymptotes? I know what they are, but suppose I'm trying to find one for this equation: (x^2 + 1)/(x+1) I've heard I should use synthetic division, but for some reason this just muddles me up further... Thanks in advance :)

I think you need to use long division
