Muhammad to them was the last prophet but if you want you could compare him to Jesus, most Muslims actually believe Jesus was a prophet as well! Muhammad to them was the most important prophet of them all. You see Muslims Jews and Christians all believe in God, but you might have heard of a guy named Abraham, he had to sons this is where the first break of the four religions happened Muslims believed the oldest son was the chosen one where as Jew believed in the younger, anyways if you follow the older son you get lead to the base of Islam Ironically it was the fight over who should lead after Muhammad died that lead to the two spilts in the Islamic relgion to think maybe over half the world could all believe in the same relgion if people didn't fight :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam Feel free to read these two articles if you need more info, but the important thing was he was the last prophet hope this helps :)
