Completely factor 4x2 + 12x + 8. 4(x + _)(x + _ ) Can someone explain to me Step by Step, Please!

Using the GCF

common factor of 4,12 and 8 is 4 since 4 goes in to each evenly you can start with \[4(x^2+3x+2)\]

I would divide through this equation by my leading coefficient which is 4 so we are left with x^2+3x+2. Now we need to see what numbers times each other =2 and added together equal 3. 2x1=2 and 2+1=3 so it looks like we found this one pretty easily. Our answer would be (x+2)(X+1)
