When sound waves are travelling in still uniform air, which one of the following quantity will change? A) Frequency B) Speed C) Amplitude D) Wavelength And pls explain why..thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is C) I would say, the still uniform air means the speed will stay the same. (if speed did change, A) or D) would have to change too, which would be two things..). C) is the amplitude, which is also volume for a sound wave. You know from experience that the further away a noise, the quiter it is, because the energy is being dispersed in different directins, plus heat lost from colisions.
