How to name the primary, secondary and tertiary alcohols???

|dw:1352590635202:dw| As for naming a compound with an alcohol group using IUPAC you just have to mention their position on the carbon backbone and use a number to indicate said position. It is not stated in IUPAC naming to indicate what alcohol is a Primary, Secondary or Tertiary alcohol because it is pretty much indicated by the name itself. The difference between the amount of substituted groups an alcohol is attached to is important for recognizing how such a group will react or if it will react Hope this is helpful
