Bill estimates that 20 people will attend the seminar if it does not rain and 12 people will attend if it rains. The weather forecast indicates a 40% chance it will not rain and a 60% change it will rain on the day of the seminar. Determine the expected number of people who willattend the seminar. 12.8 14.6 15.2 18.7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope. since the probability of rain is not 50%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its 20 and 60

OpenStudy (anonymous):

40 and 60 sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh i see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i get 15.6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's 15.2. The correct method is: (0.4 x 20) + (0.6 x 12) (I don't know why I divided by two the first time lol) Hope that helps.
