what is difference between blackbody and blackhole?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

blackbody radiation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes..., ur right?? any idea??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"Blackbody radiation" or "cavity radiation" refers to an object or system which absorbs all radiation incident upon it and re-radiates energy which is characteristic of this radiating system only, not dependent upon the type of radiation which is incident upon it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nice...,so what is difference between blackbody and blackhole? Blackhole is also absorbs all radiation incident upon it..,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A black hole is a place in space where gravity pulls so much that even light can not get out. The gravity is so strong because matter has been squeezed into a tiny space. This can happen when a star is dying.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I see it as the definition, rather than the difference

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A black hole is where the curvature of space-time is infinite, resulting in the statement that "nothing, with or without mass can escape it." A black body has been given the definition above. The difference is this: You shoot light at both of them, and the black hole does nothing, but the black body shoots something back. You throw an object at both of them, and the black hole does nothing, but the object bounces off the black body. You follow? They are completely different aside from the word black and that they absorb something massless (generally speaking)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i followed :), thanks ;)
