i need to solve for x...7x+2y=5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to solve for two unknowns you need two equations

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is the only equation I was given!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no other conditions or hints ? 7x+2y = 5 and solve for x then there are infinite values for x by which eqn can be satisfied ,by assuming values for y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all it says it's solve for x.

It's been about 12 years since I've taken math, and it was never a subject of my choice, so I am having some difficulties witht this right now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

something's missing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think maybe they are just asking you to rearrange ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if so, all x's to one side , everything else to the other, what do you get.
