I have been having an on and off issue where when I click on the top of the equation or drawing box to move them my mouse cursor becomes stuck on them and I have to refresh my browser to fix the problem

yes you shouid take that drawing box at the top and with a fast attempt move the couser down quickily and Hence it will get un-stuck...

It's easy to get the drawing box unstuck if you right click to bring up the menu and then click on the drawing area.
I know of no clever trick for the equation box.
