i thought you mean what windows8 do when it detects a deadlock.
so there are algo for deadlock detection and the deadlock prevention algo like banker's algorithm . so yes, i need to learn if banker's algo is used as a deadlock detection algo in windows or not .. btw bro i won't reply now to ur thread .

ohh.. deadlock prevention (spelling mistake) in last and 2nd last line . i mean banker algo is deadlock prevention algo , not deadlock detection .
