DDT is a fat-soluble compound, so it was often stored in the fat depots of the birds which ingested it. The harmful effects were often unnoticed until a spell of bad weather occured. Suggest reasons for this.

If there is bad weather, that means it is going to be harder for the birds to find food--when animals don't eat they get their energy from fat stores. With that information, you should be able to figure out why the weather might change things :)
