Breann solved the system of equations below. What mistake did she make in her work? 2x + y = 5 x − 2y = 10 y = 5 − 2x x − 2(5 − 2x) = 10 x − 10 + 4x = 10 5x − 10 = 10 5x = 20 x = 4 2(4) + y = 5 y = −3 She should have substituted 5 + 2x She combined like terms incorrectly, it should have been 4x instead of 5x She subtracted 10 from both sides instead of adding 10 to both sides She made no mistake

I am pretty sure she made no mistake, lol! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does anyone know?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

... weird

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont see any mistakes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

she showed no working, maybe?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Me either, Idon't know if that is the answer though. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

id just go with "d"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is the multiple choice, lol!... She should have substituted 5 + 2x She combined like terms incorrectly, it should have been 4x instead of 5x She subtracted 10 from both sides instead of adding 10 to both sides She made no mistake

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait she did... this is more confusing than ODE

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Me too, but I want to make sure it is right though. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OHHHHHH she made no mistake then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

... you can always check your answers, by substituting both x and y into the 2 given equations if the equations are both true, then there is no mistakes in teh work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok,t hx lol! I will. :)
