OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does the rule y=4*4^x represent a linear or an exponential function? Explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4^x Obviously exponential!

OpenStudy (rob1525):

neither because linear is in the form of y=mx+b and exponential uses e^x. that is a power function.

OpenStudy (rob1525):

Okay so im going for engineering and we see thing differently but you can say that 4^x has an exponent x.

OpenStudy (rob1525):

A power function is in the form of y=bx^m so i was initialy wrong. It is a exponential function.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that because one of the 4 has a expont on it
