find inverse: f(x)= (1/2)^x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@hartnn @UnkleRhaukus this is what i have: x=2^-y but i don't know how i'll solve for y.

hartnn (hartnn):

take log on both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, i'll work out on paper and give answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got y= logx/-0,301

hartnn (hartnn):

it can be simplified as y= \(-\log_2x\) know how ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes wait: logx= -ylog2 logx/-log2= y y= −log2x because of the formula/rule logax= logx/loga and i know the proof thx!

hartnn (hartnn):

right, welcome ^_^
