How to solve these function in order to sketch the graph of the polynomial function: 1.) P(x)= (x+1)(x-1)(x+2) 2.) P(x)= x^3 (x-2)(x+1)
simple let me lead u with first question first u can see the roots of above graph are +1 -1 -2.so you get the 3 roots of this cubic polynomial.do u understand till here
yes i do :)
There are 2 things to take note when sketching a graph. intercepts and turning/crtical points. intercepts are obtained by putting in the values of x that makes the functions 0. x = -1, x = 1 and x = -2. Those would be the x-intercepts. Then, let x = 0 to find the y-intercept.
is there anything wrong till here.if not then differentiate the equation and equate the new equation to 0 to gets the root of the first derivative of this equation which will be points of extremum of this equatio|dw:1352726619977:dw|
