Can you help please 5(x + 10) + x A) 6x + 15 B) 5x + 15 C) 6x + 50 D) 4x – 50

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5(x + 10) + x You first distribute 5 to what is in the paranthesis. 5x + 50 + x Then combine the line terms 6x + 50

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5* x is 5x and 5*10 is 50 plus the extra x at the end so 6x + 50

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why did you times 10 by 50?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When you distribute the 5 you have to multiply 5 byh whatever there is in the parenthesis which is 5 * x and 5 * 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no 5 times 10 is 50, the 5(x +10) means multiply everything inside the bracket by what is outside
