because head and tail are OPPOSITE sides of the coin and coin can rest on ONE SIDE only.

You could toss a coin and have it land on it's edge (I'm sure that's nearly impossible, but could happen...), which would result in you landing on NEITHER

@zepdrix i don't THINK any standard coin can land that way, but i do recall someone bringing up the a person figured out the smallest width the side would need to be to do that.
