Beginning physics Q: which travels faster an electron close to the nucleus or one farther out? Explain why

As a particle model, one would intuit that an electron nearer to the nucleus, and thus nearer to the center of electromagnetic attraction, would travel faster do to stronger force, but electrons are funny objects. You might want to research some quantum theory before you answer this.
