You have to dissect the word problem. If you can remember y = mx+b your life will be easier. the 'm' would be what you are multiplying by however many hours, days, stuff like that. The hours and days would be the 'x' and the 'b' is the initial pay. Since you get $15 regardless this would be your 'b' and your 'm' would be 3 because you multiply it by the hours ('x')
