How do I solve for x in these two equations? 1. 2x+5 2. 11x-4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in both equations? please explain how you found that answer :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you add 4 to both sides, and you get 2x+56=11x. Next you subtract 2x from both sides and get 56=9x. divide both sides byy 9 and get x=6. Understand?(:
