The first truck in a convoy will carry 12 tons of dirt while each additional truck will carry 8 tons of dirt. Write a rule to model the situation. Then use the rule to find how many tons of dirt can be carried by 7 trucks. Let n represent the number of trucks and t represent the tons of dirt.

i would use \[y=8x+12\] where \(x\) represents trucks after the first truck

but if you want \(n\) as the number of trucks including the first one, it is a bit different you could write \[t=8(n-1)+12\] or \[t=8n+4\] that would include the first truck that carries 4 more than the others
