What would A U B be if A is 6 & B is 2? Wouldn't that be {(6,2)}? And what would A (upside down U) B be? Would it be {(6.2)} also?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A U B is the set A and the set B however A ∩ B its the common values in both sets which is none in your case

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes for the first one no for the second \[A\cap B\] =is the intersection, what is common to both in your case there is nothing in the intersection sometimes written as \(\emptyset\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So then I should just put A ∩ B= 0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its empty set ∅ or {}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks so much :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right, not, either \(\{\}\) or \(\emptyset\)
