y < |2x+2| + 5 For 2x + 2 >= 0, or 2x >= -2, or x >= -2 y < |2x+2| + 5 ==> y < (2x+2) + 5 For x < -2 y < |2x+2| + 5 ==> y < -(2x+2) + 5
