factor 3x^2+10x-8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use the quadratic formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's my problem. i don't remember what it is or how to /:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I used "foil"...first, outer, inner, last ( )( )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can do either way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait, is that factoring (the way I suggested)??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all that came up for purple math was just that picture in the corner.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x+4)(3x-2) it's a little tricky, but once you get the hang of it, its okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have to show work /:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there isn't really any work to it, the way I remember 3x^2 is made by 3x times x 10x can be made a few different ways, but you have to look at the last number -8 (x )(3x )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u have two separate equations in each set of parentheses and to solve them you use **first, outer, inner, last**

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have the answer and the work for this equation, but now it's time for another one D:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok
