Which is the chemical equation for burning gasoline?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isnt this chemistry? gasoline + oxygen -> carbon dioxide + water (assuming complete combustion)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not to sure it give me answers like C8H18 + O2 = CO2 + H2O + Energy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that would be correct since gasoline is propane except that the equation is not balanced and i dont see why they add energy into a chemical equation
