In PV=nRT, why are there multiple values for R and why would my professor want me to use 0.08206 (L*atm/K*mol) exclusively?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

R can be used in electrochemistry also, so it will have units of J/mol*K, but in gas law chemistry, 0.08206 (L*atm)/(mol*K)is used most often
